Mozart's last piano concerto composed in 1791, the year he died, contains new features and peculiarities that show this extraordinary composer’s steady quest for novelties until the end. The concerto is combined with Richard Strauss' sonically opulent tone poem »Ein Heldenleben« of 1898, in which he sought a connection to the work of another Viennese classic: Beethoven's »Eroica«.
